The Br’Island Group offers access to experts in organizational effectiveness, strategic planning, change management, and executional excellence. Through our engagements with organizations in education, public service, social justice, community engagement, and other sectors, we work to gain a deep understanding of their goals and aspirations. We then identify the resources needed to achieve those outcomes. We specialize in building trusting relationships that allow us to provide impactful services, including equity consulting, strategic planning, advocacy research, organizational sustainability, and financial and operational-framework building. We pride ourselves on providing breakthrough thinking as a means to achieve transformational change.
For the Br’Island Group team, being of service to communities is a calling. Long before our organization came to be, founders Leland S. McGee, J.D., M.S.Ed., Ed.D. and John Thurber, J.D. were invested in work that would serve communities. They each grew up in environments that impressed upon them the importance of community-building, which also fueled their respective career paths.
With more than 50 combined years of experience in education, law, public policy, and community equity engagement, our founders know that the power of purpose can drive change, which is the animating spirit behind our work. With our team of consultants and advisory board members whose expertise spans various sectors and regions, we are able to form meaningful and productive relationships with partner organizations. We work hand-in-hand with partners to identify new opportunities and solutions, while enhancing their decision-making effectiveness. As a result, we strengthen our partners’ capacity to serve communities in a sustainable way, allowing their impact to go even further and touch more lives.
